Gold Expeditions 2010
27/10/09 18:14
Thank you to all this years Gold candidates for attending the meeting at lunchtime today. Hopefully we were able to provide you with the necessary information to help you select the right expedition. Base on your responses:-
There will be one open canoe Spey decent for up to sixteen person working in two groups of approx. eight. To get the most out of this trip you will have been in an open canoe or kayak before and feel confident in the river environment. We will of course provide full training beforehand and be on hand for any of the more demanding sections of the river. For the practice we will meet at Kingussie and depart from Aviemore. For final we will meet at Aviemore and depart from Spey Bay. Normally students use the train for the practice expedition and start of the final arranging pickups by car at Spey Bay at the end. We will of course provide more info nearer the time.
In addition we will run three Ben Alder trips which will involve a combination of open water canoeing and hiking. The practice will start and finish in Aviemore and the final Dalwinne. Once again we would recommend student to travel by train and organise tickets early to get the best price.
On the D of E joining instructions tab you can down load, in PDF format, more information.
